Amazon Redshift, an independent review.

As on the Amazon AWS front page Amazon Redshift is a fast, fully managed, petabyte-scale data warehouse that makes it simple and cost-effective to efficiently analyze all your data using your existing business intelligence tools.

In this independent review I will set up an Amazon Redshift datawarehouse and do some basic tests to check, without going too much deep, what can be achieved with a simple Redshift installation.

A valuable hands on guide to Talend Open Studio for Data Integration. The author explains with simple step by step procedures how to use Talend and achieve rapid results.

What I like the most is the availability of a full set of freely downloadable examples. The guide follows these examples and the user can practice the recipe in real world scenarios.

XStream UnknownFieldException: Skip unmapped tags while parsing XML


By default XStream requires the developer to declare a property for each possible XML tag. For example if the XML file contains the tag X but the Java class doesn't, the parser will generate and UnknownFieldException

It has been a long time since the last post, now I'm in London working on exiting projects for very big companies!

My current project is the design and development of a visual statistical enviroment with R-Project as backend. I hope the company I'm working for will release it as an Open Source tool for complex Data Mining analysis.
